The Rise and Fall of ChatGPT.

The Rise and Fall of ChatGPT.

Introduction

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI and was launched at the end of 2022, its purpose is to generate human-like responses to to natural language inputs based on the data it gathers when people ask it questions, it does so by using training data.

The Rise

ChatGPT grew as quickly as it did, because it was one of the first AI technologies of its kind. It was made available to the public right away with comprehensive use in a way in which the public could understand immediately.

What was different about ChatGPT is that it was able to generate responses in a similar way to which normal human beings would reply, as opposed to normal technology outputting general code or data.

ChatGPT managed to reach more than 100 million users within its first two months of launch, since then, it has retained over 13 million visitors a day as of 2023. This amount of users meant that ChatGPT became the fastest-growing consumer app in a short period of time.

The Fall

As nothing lasts forever, neither has ChatGPT. After the huge success the AI had upon launch it has started to face challenges, this includes new regulations such as the internet legislation.

Another issue that ChatGPT has had to face is the creation of other AI software which is capable of doing the same thing, some examples of these companies is Jasper.ai and Conch. Both of these AI’s are capable of doing everything that ChatGPT can do and more

Finally, one of the major uses of ChatGPT was helping students to quickly write essays and assignments. Unfortunately for students this is not the case anymore as this can now be detected on sites such as Turnitin.

Conclusion

In conclusion, ChatGPT does not have as much freedom as it did when it was initially launched, and the copying of idea of an artificial intelligence made by other companies means they now have competition to deal with, however, ChatGPT is still a very useful and effective tool for helping people write.
